I wrote Rain’s Coming Down around 2004 while living in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Tornadic thunderstorms were rolling in, and I was home alone as the weather closed in. With the sky lighting up and the wind building outside, I sat down at the piano and let the song come out in real time. It’s a song born from that mix of isolation, intensity, and wonder that only an Oklahoma storm can bring. Since then, I’ve carried it with me, playing and singing it on the piano for years, always meaning to record it “someday.” This is that day. After all this time, I finally captured it the way it was meant to be heard.
